The mainstay of the treatment in lymphovenous ulcers is applying appropriate compression to aid the microcirculati on of the skin through decreasing the edema which is also crucial in decreasing the amount of exudation from the wound area.
Lymphedema and diabetes create a suitable environment for infection with protein rich leakage and hampered cellular defense. Local wound care and infection treatment becomes more important in avoiding septicemia and wound healing in this group of patients
