Summary

This document covers venous leg ulcer management, clinical challenges and promoting shared care as well as case studies using SAP dressings under compression therapy.

As many VLUs produce high volumes of fluid, this requires an effective strategy for exudate management. This article describes how use of superabsorbent dressings can lock fluid within their structure, thereby protecting both the wound bed and periwound skin.
