Diabetic foot treatment with negative pressure therapy – Case report

• Aim of infected diabetic foot treatment is infection control and limb preservation.
• Beside systemic treatment with antibiotics, the urgent local treatment is fundamental.
• Precocious drainage and debridement of necrotic tissues improve tissue perfusion and reduce bacterial bioburden.
• Negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) provides a great contribution in control of exudate, reduction of bioburden, promoting granulation tissue and contraction of wound.
