Summary

Current treatment guidelines are recommending a holistic approach and prescribes management of hard-to-heal ulcers that should consider

  • patient-related factors (pathology, comorbidity, allergy, medications, psychosocial, pain, concordance),
  • wound-related factors (duration/senescence, size (area and depth),
  • wound bed condition (ischemia, inflammation/infection, anatomical site, treatment response),
  • healthcare professional skills and knowledge, and
  • resource treatment-related factors (healthcare system, availability, suitability, effectiveness, cost/reimbursement).

In this webinar it will be explained how health-economic models can help with realization of those ambitious goals.
