Introduction

Virtual HARTMANN Symposium at the World Union of Wound Healing Societies (WUWHS) Event at 15th Sept.

Tuesday, 15th Sept. 2020
9:30-11:00 am (CET)
8:30-10:00 am (GMT)

Every wound type, either acute or chronic, will have a level of bioburden that has the potential to develop into an infection, subsequently requiring specific management. Bacteria within a wound exists in either the planktonic or biofilm form and for the most part, treatment involves the use of topical antimicrobials or antibiotics. While much effort has been made to develop effective approaches for biofilm and infected wounds management, the use of antimicrobial agents raises worldwide concerns regarding the potential development of bacteria resistance.
